Lancaster County is one of America’s rural treasures—home to tens of thousands of Amish families, pristine farmland, and acres and acres of some the most scenic, unspoiled views. It’s why so many couples retire early to places like Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. But they come for more than that. People move to Lancaster because it’s also a place with a vibrant spiritual life and thriving churches that constantly demonstrate a love for neighbors and a spirit of grace and forgiveness.
So, when our producer, Jeff Coleman traveled to Quarryville in southern Lancaster County, he interviewed several senior citizens for a series called “Living Fully”—to find out how men and women endured trial and hardship, but in the end—were content and even joyful.
