Vice President Biden’s campaign expected his lifelong identity as a practicing Catholic would allow him to compete for millions of voters separated from the party of their parents and grandparents because of issues like abortion.
But President Trump’s connection to Christian voters was inseverable. No personal revelation, off-color remark, or Tweet would be enough to break a relationship built on the wall promises he kept to Christian voters. But why?
