Living a public life is hard. In politics, there are few places to disappear. Few places where you’re not noticed by opponents—or often fans—who recognize you from a favorite cable news channel. Tonight’s guest had one of those faces. He was an award-winning author and professor, a psychologist who’d dispensed hours of life advice on TV on topics like mental health, anger, violence, parenting, and relationships. His new book is called, “The Christ Cure: 10 Biblical Ways to Heal from Trauma and PTSD,” The first chapter details Tim’s own dark tunnel—in the moments after his fall from public grace. But his story didn’t end there. Today, he’s living with hope and helping others. Joe Watkins interviews Dr. Tim Murphy about his life and new book on State of Independence.
