Rescue is Their Mission : State of Independence
27m
When most of us think of the face of those experiencing homelessness, hunger, and other forms of insecurity in America’s cities, the face is almost always a man’s. But what about women and children who’ve been dislodged from the community because of abuse, fatherless or motherless homes—often connected to addiction or mental illness? On this episode of State of Independence, you’ll hear about one of Pennsylvania’s most successful organizations—Bethesda Mission in Harrisburg—that is meeting the needs of men, women and children in extraordinary ways. Joe Watkins interviews Cindy Mallow, the Director of Development at Bethesda Mission in Harrisburg. (Original airdate 8-5-22)
